Over 26,000 students study in La Trobe which includes more than 3,000 international students belonging to 90 different countries of the world such as India, Vietnam, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, USA and France. The primary campus of the University is situated in Melbourne. The University has an admirable student-to-staff ratio which ensures that all the students receive proper academic support and environment for succeeding in their endeavour. International students are provided sufficient assistance with their applications, English and academic skills, visas and airport reception.

The main campus of the University is located in Bundoora, the other one being at Bendigo. Language courses are offered by the University’s language centre through the ELICOS program having nine intakes, ranging from basic to advanced, all over the year. Students who do not satisfy the criteria for seeking admission into La Trobe’s undergraduate courses can undertake the full-time diploma programs or Foundation Studies for fulfilling the requirements.

Accommodation

The University’s International Office organizes temporary accommodation till the students can arrange something for themselves. They can either go for on-campus or off-campus accommodation as per their budgets and needs.

Orientation Meetings

Orientation program includes a Welcome Festival helps students in becoming familiar with the University’s study culture and the Australian lifestyle on the whole. Information sessions are conducted for incoming students which focuses on expanding one’s social network.
