Entry Requirements: Applicants must complete secondary school qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12. The minimum English language proficiency requirements for degree courses are paper-based TOEFL (PBT) - a minimum test score of 550 with a TWE (Test of Written English) score of 5.0 or a computer-based TOEFL (CBT) score of 213 with an Essay Rating (ER) score of 5.0 or an internet-based TOEFL (iBT) score of 80+ with a minimum of 20 in all sections or an IELTS (Academic Module) score of 6.0, with no subtest score below 6. An undergraduate degree with distinction (70 per cent) or above (or equivalent grades) in at least the last two units of the two majors (or equivalent studies); and credits (60 per cent) or above (or equivalent grades) in at least 60 per cent of the total number of undergraduate units attempted. Applicants must complete a preliminary year of tertiary study (including studies in sociology and/or psychology) prior to entering the social work degree. Applicants who are unable to attend an interview are required to submit a 15-minute videotaped presentation of themselves outlining the reasons for their interest in the course and their experience in welfare and human services, as well as two written statements of between 250 - 300 words outlining: 1. What attributes ou believe you would bring to being a social worker; and 2. (a) Your experiences of working in a community service organisation. This could involve voluntary or paid work; or (b) A social issue that you think is significant; or (c) Your experiences of working to bring about change in a community.
